A rare combination of artistry and metallurgy, this Delhi Mokume-Gane Tiger buckle by master engraver Neil Hunt blends ancient metalworking tradition with bold contemporary design.

The buckle frame is forged from mokume-gane, a centuries-old Japanese technique whose name translates to “wood grain metal.” By bonding and forging multiple layers of metal together, the process creates flowing organic patterns that resemble natural wood grain. The result is a buckle face alive with movement and texture—no two pieces ever exactly alike.

At the center sits a sculpted yellow bronze tiger, engraved with remarkable detail and strength. The tiger adds both visual depth and symbolic power, creating a focal point that contrasts beautifully with the warm layered tones of the mokume metal.
