The Fusion - Nairobi buckle is a centerpiece of Neil’s Fusion Series, blending the ancient metalworking traditions of the East with a classic Western silhouette. Hand-sculpted from raw metal plate, bar, and wire, each buckle is a unique work of wearable art.
The Nairobi features a striking yellow bronze lion—an emblem from Neil’s Conservation Series—cast using the traditional lost-wax method. This regal figure sits atop a field of Mokume-gane, a Japanese "wood-grain" metal technique once reserved for samurai swords. By acid-etching the bonded layers of nickel silver, brass, and copper, Neil reveals a deep, tactile texture and a subtle palette of earth tones. Finished with sterling silver, this buckle offers a sophisticated weight that feels substantial yet comfortable for daily wear.
