This striking 3-piece buckle set by master engraver Neil Hunt features a frame crafted from mokume-gane, a centuries-old Japanese metalworking technique whose name translates to “wood grain metal.” Multiple layers of metal are bonded and forged together, creating the flowing organic patterns visible across the buckle’s surface. The result is a piece with natural movement and depth—no two buckles are ever identical.
Ancient Japanese metallurgy meets modern Western craftsmanship in this piece of handcrafted wearable art designed to last for generations.
