Conceived by Pat and handcrafted in his New Mexico studio from a unique metal alloy fabricated in Ukraine, it features a custom laminate of Zirconium and Titanium – two of the rarest and most resilient metals known to man.
The metals are forge-welded under intense heat and pressure, then slowly cooled in a meticulously controlled environment. This gradual process allows the titanium's crystalline structure to expand from the microscopic, revealing intricate, iridescent patterns that shimmer and shift in the light. The vibrant hues emerge from the heat-induced oxidation of the titanium, while the back of the buckle displays the raw titanium crystal structure, stripped of its color – offering a striking contrast and glimpse into the material's natural state.
